Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Center for Science in the Public Interest. The short explanation of this alert was: The Multnomah County Board of Commissioners is set to vote on July 31 on a proposal by Commissioner Jeff Cogen and the county health department requiring chain restaurants to put calorie information on menus. Similar policies have passed in New York City, San Francisco, King County (Seattle), and Santa Clara County in California. People in Multnomah County deserve similar information. Without clear, easy-to-use nutrition information, it’s difficult to make informed choices at chain restaurants. Otherwise how can you know that a tuna sandwich has 50% more calories than a roast beef sandwich? Or that a small chocolate milkshake at McDonald’s has more calories than a Big Mac? We need your help to pass menu labeling in Multnomah County. Please send a message today to your Commissioner and urge them to pass this menu labeling policy.
